LTC Michael Paul Hrycak, U.S. Army, Retired left a message on September 14, 2021:
I want to share my grief with all who knew Ivan, a person of great life and drive. He was inspired to lead an active life with a style that espoused quiet modesty, but was the result of audacity and courage. Ivan served our great Nation in uniform for the cause of freedom and to rid the world of communism, and for all he accomplished he asked for nothing in return. I raise my glass in his honor, and I thank him for helping to stop the worldwide spread of communism and meeting the enemy at the gates, so my family sleeps securely at night. Ukraine has lost a true Hero and patriot, and we pray for Ivan's entry into Eternal Life. Slava Ukraini! Glory to Ukraine! Heroyam Slava! Glory to Her Heroes!
