Marva Abrams passed away Friday September 8 2023. Born on October 1, 1955 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she travelled to New York City marrying Alvin D. Abrams, II and to this union was born 7 children, Alvin D. Abrams, III “Little A”, Monique, DeVoren, Shawn, Alvin, Matthew, and Daniel.
Marva had put her faith and trust in the Lord, and knew Christ Jesus as her Savior. This was seen by the way she loved and honored her husband, how she loved and cared for her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters and many others. Marva introduced her family to the Lord at a young age; reading bible stories and teaching them to pray to God and how they should put their trust in Him.
When faced with troubling times like the passing of her first born, Little A, Marva would look to Christ who provides comfort that surpassed understanding. With the strength of the Lord she persevered.
She explored an array of career paths but loved her work as a legal secretary.
Marva attended church at a few places throughout her life but found joy and fellowship at home with family and serving the Woodside community by feeding children and opening the doors for many to come and talk with her.
Everyone knew that if you came to the house, you had a plate. She enjoyed watching tv shows and movies, especially old westerns, cooking and feeding those she loved. Marva took great lengths with sincerity in having casual, meaningful and spiritual conversations with anyone who was in need of it.
She enjoyed serving her family and took interest in their activities, most recently playing games or toys with grandchildren.
She goes to be in the presence of God our Father and we cherish her memory, her beloved husband Alvin D. Abrams, II, Monique, DeVoren (wife Camille), Shawn (wife Vanessa), Alvin D. Abrams IV, Matthew, Daniel, Malakhi, Jeremiah, Elijah, Shawn’s 4th coming child, Lucas, Lilly, Tyler, Kal-El, Ca’Miyah, Bella, Love, Mazelee, Tee’Nami, Atreus, Lorraine Graham, Fern Benson, Denise Irish, Linda Brice, Lloyd Irish, Jr., Alex Abrams, Zina Abrams, Mark Abrams, Sidney Abrams along with a host of extended family and friends.
